The Yamaha E band 2018 competition winners ,NATIV AFRIK BAND, has been nominated to represent Ghana at the 14th edition of SICA Music Festival slated for the 26th-29th November in Benin cotonu.
They represent a golden generation ready to promote kologo Music, incorporating the humble and delicate sound of the 10 stringed Ghanaian harp lute (seprewa) that shares kinship with the Kora.NATIV AFRIK BAND seeks to bring traditional music to the forefront of jazz,blues and funk coupled with timeless messages and strong rhythms too difficult to shake down.
SICA aims to promote mordern music of Traditional Inspiration which draws it’s source from the rich diverse African cultural multidimensional entities and multi ethnic Africans.
This year’s theme,The Impact of COVID 19 on cultural and Artistic activities ( Actions and perspectives),places more emphasis on the Artists and bands foundamental roles of educating the people through their works.
The leaders and management of the band looks to paint the African continent with the Ghanaian colours and thereby admonishes the nation to support the group with prayers and goodwill tidings.
