The just ended 14th SICA 2020 edition which was held in Benin that saw lots of entries across the African continent saw NATIV AFRIK BAND emerge as the grand winners.

The award ” SICA mordern music of traditional inspiration” which was the  biggest prize of the SICA festival went deservedly  to the Ghanaian contesting band after having gathered more points at the end of the competition for quality work,sound recording,it’s realisation, arrangements, content and message conveyed by the song by an international jury making it a huge win for the band and Ghana at large.

 It becomes the  Second major award they have received, the first being the YAMAHA EBAND COMPETITION 2018 and they have no intention of  stopping.

With discipline and determination, Nativ Afrik band, is  poised  to serve traditional music to the forefront of jazz,blues,funk etc and by so doing, showcasing the colours of Africa like the likes of Fela Kuti, Angelique Kidjo, Lady Smith black mamba, just to mention a few have done.

The management of the  band are therefore  full of  gratitude for the president and the entire organising committee of SICA for making the 14th edition a reality.

Special thanks also goes to Mr Oumar Diagne who has been an amazing pillar to the group and not forgetting Friends and Family.

The Leader for the band Mr Emmanuel Amponsah who doubles as the drummer entreated Ghanaians that it’s about time we listen to songs that contains our cultural heritage because we are the people that can tell our story best. He admonishes the nation to continue to rally behind the Band and they promise to serve the country with nothing but the best of music
